The music of Sirena Riley and Tom Donald is instantly recognisable as one of the most unique songwriting partnerships on today’s modern jazz music scene. Expanding beyond their foundation of jazz, Sirena and Tom have handpicked some of London’s finest string ensemble musicians (violinists Ayako Yamazaki and Minsi Yang, cellist Patrick Tapio Johnson and Katya Lazereva on viola), to form a dream quartet to accompany their award wining songs. This concert fuses musical worlds from Mahler and Kurt Veil to Nina Simone and Keith Jarrett.
Tom Donald, international film composer and pianist will open the show, with a world premiere of his String Quintet composed for Haider Rashid’s film “The Deep” which won the Jury Prize at the 10th Annual Dubai Film Festival. Donald’s film music has won multiple awards in Europe and the Middle East crossing the boundaries between Western Classical music combined with Middle Eastern influences.

Olivia who is of an Anglo-French background developed a love for interpreting and creating melody from a young age. This led her to write and perform her own songs on the acoustic scene in London and Paris.
Her own music was initially rooted in folk though she often found herself naturally loving and weaving elements of jazz and blues into her vocal melodies. This led her to study and blossom in jazz singing.
She has co-written and performed music for theatre and television.
Olivia loves the creativity and freedom jazz offers for expressing sounds and seeks to channel her sensitivity into song and touch listeners.
With her beautiful vocals and inventive jazz arrangements, Zoë White weaves a spell of romance, yearning, fun and laughter. Born into the most wonderful Anglo-Italian family where music, food and wine — and ice-cream! – were the basic stuff of life, Edana has been singing forever. In the last five years she has established herself as a successful jazz performer, regularly playing to full houses in England and Italy. Festival performances include the Isle of Wight Jazz Festival and Jazz on the Meadow, in support of Courtney Pine.
Edana’s debut CD, Still On My Feet, was released in November 2011. Featured musicians include Guy Barker, Guillermo Rozenthuler & James McMillan — and the magnificent Liane Carroll on backing vocals!
Still On My Feet is dedicated to all Edana’s much loved family, and to her brother Anthony especially. Anthony was the multi-talented, Oscar-winning film director who died at the age of 54 in 2008. Two of the tunes on the album were featured on the soundtrack of two of Anthony’s films: A Case of You, was in Truly Madly Deeply, and You Don’t Know What Love Is featured in The Talented Mr Ripley. Guy Barker worked with Anthony on the Talented Mr Ripley, and it was after having the opportunity to sing with Guy’s quintet, that Edana took the plunge into the deep blue sea of the jazz world…..
The album was produced by Liane Carroll and engineered by James McMillan, at Quiet Money Studios, Hastings.
